RACE DAY IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2010

Start Time: 8:00 A.M.

The Atlantic City Marathon is the third oldest marathon in America. Moving into its 52nd year, the race is getting a face-lift with a new course and some added amenities.

A well kept secret for many years, the Atlantic City Marathon features a USATF-certified course. The race is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and can also be a great training run for those gearing up for the New York City Marathon, the Chicago Marathon or for those who have been shut out of the Philadelphia Marathon. The Atlantic City race is ideal for runners who are looking for a challenging and fun small to mid-size competition.

Runners from across the nation and the world are discovering what many locals have known for years. This is a great race with a stunning, seaside course. Imagine views of the beach and the ocean beyond as you run along the boardwalk, pass the whimsical Lucy the Elephant and finish at Atlantic City’s Historic Boardwalk Hall.

Not quite up for a full marathon? This race offers something for everyone, with a marathon, a half-marathon, 10K, 5K, Two-Mile Walk and a Kids Fun Run.

Runners compete for cash prizes of $2,500 each for top male and female finishers in the marathon, and cash prizes and custom medals in other races as well. And everyone who registers for any race is eligible to win a $25,000 cash prize awarded at an afternoon raffle.

In advance of the big day, runners enjoy an elaborate pre-race dinner buffet at Bally’s Casino, complete with live entertainment. After the race, relax by the ocean at the beautiful Jersey shore or try your luck in one of Atlantic City’s casinos, where you can also take in dinner and a show.

Invite family and friends to cheer you on, then stay for a wonderful weekend of resort fun.
