Is there a registration capacity?
Not at this time.
Do I need a qualifying time to enter the Atlantic City Marathon?
No, the race is a wonderful event for elite and beginning runners.
I am injured and/or cannot run the event (family commitment, work obligation, etc.). Can I donate my entry or transfer my entry to someone else?
No. Per our official event rules and guidelines: Sale and/or transfer of race entry/bib is strictly prohibited and will result in the disqualification and/or banning of any individuals involved from future events. All entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be deferred toward a future event.
If I provide medical documentation of my injury or pregnancy, will you give me a refund?
Refunds and name transfers are not permitted. The selling or trading of Bib Numbers is prohibited.
RACE REGISTRATION DEFERMENT POLICY
Runners who become injured may defer their race registration for medical reasons. We hope that this will help you in planning your race schedule for the year and build confidence that if you should become injured you will be able to postpone your participation in the 2012 Atlantic City Marathon Race Series until 2013.
Runners are eligible for registration deferment to the following calendar year if they are medically unable to complete the race they are registered for. A race deferment form must be completed by a physician within 30 days of the event date. All deferment forms must be accompanied by a $20.00 processing fee. Runners must submit the form to race officials one week prior to the event date. No deferments will be granted after the race. Please feel free to contact us for additional information.
Can I change the race I am registered for?
All race changes must be accompanied by a $20.00 processing fee.
No race changes are permitted after 10/6/2012.
I did not receive a payment confirmation e-mail after I registered, or I am not sure that I entered my registration correctly.
For all registration questions please email acmarathon@jccatlantic.org.
Is the Atlantic City Marathon walker-friendly? Yes, but there is not a separate start for walkers.
The April Fools Half Marathon Course is open for 4 hours.
The Marathon Course is open to all participants who wish to register; however, the Marathon course closes after 6.5 hours.
All runners and walkers should be aware of race etiquette and stay to the right of the course, allowing faster paced runners to race on the left. We ask that runners and walkers in groups do not walk in horizontal rows, taking up the entire width of the course.
Do I have to pick up my Participant Packet, Participant Bag and tech-shirt at the Sports & Fitness Expo?
April Fools Half Marathon: No, race day packet pick up is available.
Atlantic City Marathon and Half Marathon: Yes. All participants must pick up their event-issued bib number, timing device, technical shirt and Participant Bag at the Expo. We do not mail out participant packets, bags or T-shirts that are not picked up at the Expo; no exceptions.
What do I need to bring with me in order to pick up my Participant Packet and Bag?
You need to bring your Confirmation Ticket or Confirmation E-mail and your photo ID.
Can a friend pick up my packet for me if I cannot attend the Sports & Fitness Expo?
No, all runners must pick up their own race packets.
Will energy gel and drinks be offered?
Yes, there will be energy gels and hydration drinks offered at some water stations. There will be a variety of flavors offered, not just one particular flavor.
Can I run with an iPod/headphones?
Yes. USATF, the national governing body of the sport, recently amended its ban on headphones, iPods and similar devices. However, there is a variety of course entertainment brought to you by Wayv and headphones are strongly discouraged for on-course safety reasons.
Can I run with my Garmin GPS or my Nike Plus device?
Yes, participants may wear their Garmin GPS watches and/or Nike Plus devices. However, these items do not count as “second timing devices" and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances.
I live/work along the race course. Where can I find out about race day street closures?
For important information on street closures, visit the website at least one week prior to the race.
